ABOUT US
In 1994, two city gals, Diane and Joanie, who had both been in the
printing and publishing industry for years, each wanted to move to the
country. So they sold their two houses in Eugene, Oregon and moved out to
a wonderful 14-acre property in Cheshire. With rezoning to allow
for two residences, an addition was built. In 1998, they bought three
alpacas and began their continuing adventure in alpaca ranching. In 1999,
Diane’s Mom, Pat, came to live on the farm.
Pat, a very accomplished potter, taught Diane the craft and together they
made and sold garden art. After several years Pat needed to move to
Junction City for care. At the urging of many friends who loved coming to
the farm, part of the house has been turned into Dancing Rain Guest House.
The guest house is private, spacious, and well-appointed and offers guests
a wonderful, relaxing atmosphere.
From watching a bear, drunk on fermented grape skins stagger through their
woods, to great alpaca round-ups when gates were left unlatched, the gals
have had many adventures here at Dancing Rain. It’s been a cherished time
and place and we welcome you to come and join us here at Dancing Rain
Guest House.
We’re committed to making your stay with us a fondly remembered occasion.
